A Christmas afternoon at the Conservative Club, 278 Baker Street, on Friday 18 December, 12pm to 4.30pm: a three-course meal, music, dancing and a raffle.

MHA North London and the home care company Walfinch East Barnet are holding a joint Christmas celebration at the Conservative Club, 278 Baker Street, Enfield (EN1 3LD) on Friday 18 December, from 12pm to 4.30pm.

The afternoon includes a three-course meal, entertainment, music, dancing and a raffle, which the organisers say has “some exciting prizes”.

The guest of honour is Margaret Greer, a former Mayor of Enfield, who, Walfinch says, “actively supports MHA groups and our local community”.

More than a Christmas lunch

Walfinch East Barnet says the event is also about what happens the rest of the year. “Beyond the Christmas celebration, the event highlights how local organisations can work together to support residents, reduce social isolation and create a stronger sense of community,” the company said.

It says its work reaches beyond the people it cares for at home. “Walfinch East Barnet works alongside local charities and community organisations, supporting people not only through our care services but also through wider community activities and initiatives,” it said. “Many who benefit from our work are not our care clients but local residents who value the opportunity to meet others and take part in community life.”

Going along

The organisers have not said whether places are open to anyone or how to book. Walfinch East Barnet is on 020 4531 8484, and its website is walfinch.com/east-barnet.

The company says it would be happy to introduce people involved in the celebration, with their consent, and we hope to report from the afternoon itself.
