Enfield's Christmas market is Forty Hall's fayre, 28 and 29 November, 11am to 4pm, but tickets are not on sale yet. Myddelton House has free carols on 12 Dec.
Enfield has one dated Christmas market for 2026: the Forty Hall Christmas Fayre, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, 11am to 4pm. It is ticketed, and on 6 October there was still no way to buy a ticket. The only other festive shopping with a 2026 date is the greenery and decorations stall at Myddelton House’s free carols evening on 12 December.
We checked the council, Enfield Market, Forty Hall, Myddelton House and Capel Manor on 6 October. Here is what each has published, and what it has not.
Forty Hall Christmas Fayre: 28 and 29 November
The estate’s own stall holder notice, still online on 6 October, gives Saturday 28 November 2026, 11am to 4pm, and Sunday 29 November 2026, 11am to 4pm. It calls the fayre “a ticketed event, attracting over 1,000 visitors across the weekend”, and it was looking for craft, gift and artisan stalls inside plus food vendors outside.
The catch is tickets. A “Christmas Fayre 2026” listing went on sale in the Forty Hall box office on 22 August and had been taken down by 3 October. When we queried the box office system again on 6 October, it still listed no fayre, and nothing on the estate’s site says the weekend is cancelled. So the dates stand on the estate’s own notice, but there is nowhere to buy entry yet.
Last year’s prices give a sense of scale: £2 in advance plus a £1.50 booking fee, £4.50 on the day, £1 for the outdoor stalls only, and free for under-15s. Those are 2025 figures. Our Forty Hall Christmas Fayre page has the full detail, the 2025 layout and the travel and parking notes, and we will update both pages when a 2026 listing appears.
Forty Hall is at Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA, with a free car park.
Myddelton House: free carols and greenery, 12 December
Myddelton House Gardens, run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, lists a Christmas season running from 27 November to 19 December. It is not a market, but one evening comes close.
Carols in the Courtyard is on 12 December, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, free, with no need to book. Enfield Brass Band plays from 5pm to 6pm, a special guest switches on the gardens’ Christmas lights, and there is festive greenery and natural decorations for sale. The Bowles Tea Room does a seasonal menu of sausage rolls, mince pies and hot drinks.
The same season has wreath making workshops with the head gardener on 27 and 28 November and 4 and 5 December, 10.30am to 1pm, at £50 each, held in the stable block.
The Lee Valley pages print the day and month but not the year. They were all updated in September 2026, and every date falls on the weekday you would expect for 2026, so we are treating them as this year’s.
Enfield Market: the charter market, Thursday to Saturday
Enfield’s charter market, which has traded in The Market Place since 1303, is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm, on Church Street, Enfield EN2 6LN. Its food court runs daily. On 6 October its website listed no Christmas market, grotto or extended festive hours for 2026. We will add them if it does.
What is not confirmed
- A Christmas market in Enfield Town. The council’s winter events page mentions “Christmas markets”, but its listing was empty on 6 October, as it is every year until November. A one-day market in Market Square on Sunday 16 November 2025 was a private event, and nothing says it will return.
- The Enfield Town Parade of Light. It has run on a Sunday in late November or early December. Its 2026 date is not announced. Our Christmas lights switch-on page tracks it.
- Capel Manor Gardens. Its Christmas weekend, 12 and 13 December, has a grotto, crafts and the gift shop, not market stalls. See our Santa’s grotto page.
Getting there and parking
Forty Hall and Myddelton House are both at the northern edge of the borough, off the A10 near the M25. Forty Hall’s car park is free; Myddelton House says car parking charges apply. For Enfield Town car park charges and the Sunday rules, see our parking in Enfield page, and check Enfield roadworks and travel before you set off.
We will update this page when Forty Hall relists the fayre with prices, and when the council publishes its 2026 winter events.
