Forty Hall Christmas Fayre is still dated 28 and 29 November, 11am to 4pm, but its ticket listing was pulled from the box office. 2026 prices are unpublished.

The Forty Hall Christmas Fayre is on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026, 11am to 4pm on both days. That is confirmed twice over: the estate’s own stall holder announcement of 23 August 2026 prints both dates and both sets of times, and it is still up on the estate’s website.

Updated 3 October: the “Christmas Fayre 2026” listing that went on sale in the Forty Hall box office on 22 August has been taken down. Its booking page now returns “we cannot find the event you are looking for”, and the fayre is not on the estate’s what’s on page. The estate has given no reason and has not said the weekend is off: the stall holder notice still gives 28 and 29 November. Until a new listing appears, there is nowhere to buy a ticket. We will add it, with this year’s prices, as soon as it does.

Forty Hall is at Forty Hill, Enfield EN2 9HA, and it is owned and run by Enfield Council.

It is ticketed, and that catches people out

This is not a free drop-in. The estate describes it as “a ticketed event, attracting over 1,000 visitors across the weekend”. The listing that was taken down closed online sales for each day at 10am on the morning of that day, an hour before the doors open. In 2025 tickets were also sold on the day, subject to availability.

The 2026 prices are not published yet. The listing never carried a description before it was withdrawn, so there is no price table to report and we are not going to invent one. For reference, this is what the same fayre charged in 2025:

2025 ticket Price
Advance, inside and outside stalls £2.00 plus £1.50 booking fee
On the day, inside and outside stalls £4.50, subject to availability
Outside stalls only, bought at the door £1.00
Children under 15 Free

Treat those as last year’s numbers, not this year’s. We will replace this table the moment the 2026 listing fills in.

One other difference worth watching. The 2025 fayre sold two entry slots a day, 11am and 1pm, with last entry at 3.40pm. The withdrawn 2026 listing had a single 11am slot per day. Whether a new listing keeps that is not known.

What is actually there

From the 2025 event description, which the estate wrote itself: over 50 stalls across two floors of the house, plus outdoor music, plus a food court doing seasonal food and hot drinks. Stalls run inside the period rooms and outside in the historic courtyard.

The 2026 call for traders asks for “high-quality craft, gift and artisan stalls, as well as outdoor food vendors”, so the mix should look much the same.

Dogs. In 2025 dogs were allowed in the Outer Courtyard only, not in the house. The estate’s general rule is that dogs are welcome in the gardens and parkland but never inside the museum, guide dogs excepted.

Thinking of taking a stall

Applications closed on Sunday 27 September 2026. Late applications can still be considered but attract a £50 admin fee, which the announcement states plainly. Fees and full terms are on the application form linked from the estate’s news post.

Getting there and parking

Parking is free and on site. Drive in through the main gates and turn right into the car park, which the estate says has ample space. There are disabled bays in the main car park on the right as you enter. The car park opens at 8.30am and is locked at dusk, which in late November is not long after the fayre closes, so do not leave a car there for the evening.

By road, the entrance is on Forty Hill, reached from Bullsmoor Lane or Caterhatch Lane off the A10. Junction 25 of the M25 is two miles away.

Without a car:

  • Bus: the 191 or W10 from Enfield Town to the roundabout at Myddleton Avenue, then a ten minute walk up Forty Hill.
  • Rail: Enfield Town is 30 minutes from Liverpool Street, then the 191 or a 20 minute walk. Turkey Street and Gordon Hill are also about 20 minutes on foot.
  • Underground: Piccadilly line to Oakwood, then the 307 or 121 to Enfield Town, then the 191.

If you are driving in from elsewhere in the borough that weekend, check our roadworks page first, and our parking page covers the council car parks in town if you would rather park in Enfield Town and take the 191.

Two small traps on the estate’s own website

The phone number is wrong in one place. The getting-here page prints “020 2363 8196”, which is not a working London number. The FAQ page and the what’s-on page both give 020 8363 8196, which is the right one. The email address, forty.hall@enfield.gov.uk, is the same everywhere.

The opening hours you see are summer hours. The plan-your-visit page states that its listed hours run from 2 April to 31 October, so the house times shown there do not describe late November. On fayre weekend the times that matter are the event’s own, 11am to 4pm.

Accessibility

The estate says there is full wheelchair access throughout Forty Hall, with an accessible toilet and baby change inside the museum and further toilets in the park. Guide dogs are welcome in the museum and at events. Wheelchairs can be borrowed free, subject to availability, but need booking in advance on 020 8363 8196 or forty.hall@enfield.gov.uk.
